Central Park Cycling Heads-Up — Sat Jun 13 – Fri Jun 19
Hey cyclists — no race closures and no drive shutdowns this week. The heat is the only obstacle: 88–91°F from Wednesday through Thursday. Monday at 82°F is your open window; every other quality ride requires an early start.
Weather this week
88°F Saturday, 84°F Sunday, 82°F Monday, 85°F Tuesday, 89°F Wednesday, 91°F Thursday, 87°F Friday. Manageable if you front-load; punishing if you don’t.

82°F, sunny, nothing on the drives. This is the week. Long ride or intervals — do it Monday. The 40-in-Focus exhibit opens at the Arsenal at 9 AM; foot traffic at the Fifth Avenue entrance picks up by 10 AM but stays off the drives.
Tue 6/16 — 85°F, drives clear
Clean loop. Bowling Greens, Cedar Hill, and Pilgrim Hill all closed for maintenance — zero drive impact. Julius Caesar at The Pool Lawns starts 5 PM; foot traffic increases near the 100th Street West Drive area after 4:30 PM. Evening opening reception for 40-in-Focus at the Arsenal (6–8 PM) draws foot traffic near the Fifth Avenue entrance — drives stay clear.
Wed 6/17 — 89°F, drives open
SummerStage Festival operating at Rumsey Playfield. Wellness at the Park runs 9 AM–1 PM at the Great Lawn north side — no drive impact. Julius Caesar (5–10 PM) again at The Pool. Early ride only in 89°F heat.
Thu 6/18 — 91°F, drives open
SummerStage at Rumsey Playfield again. Private Starlight Dinner at Summit Rock (6–9 PM) — trail permit, not on the loop. Pre-dawn riding only at 91°F.
