Hey sports fans,

Sunday-evening edition, looking at the week starting tomorrow. No CRCA crit racing this Saturday (Memorial Day skip — first absence of the series this season). Model Yachts and Skate Circle return Saturday; weekday leagues continue Mon–Fri with heat-rule modifications likely Mon–Tue.

Hot and sunny Mon–Tue with Tuesday hitting 93°F, Wednesday-evening storms, then cool and damp Thursday onward with rain likely Saturday. Heat-rule game modifications likely Mon–Tue evenings; Saturday’s Model Yacht Racing and league play face real rain-cancellation risk.

Mon May 18 — weekday leagues, heat advisory

• James Christie Soccer Training at Lawn North of Levin (9:30 AM–1:30 PM) and South Dead Road A (1–5 PM)
• Adult/youth softball + Little League at North Meadow, evenings (heat advisory; late starts and possible heat-rule modifications)

Tue May 19 — 93°F, heat-rule games

The hottest day of the year so far. Most evening youth leagues will modify, shorten, or cancel under heat-rule protocols. If you spectate, bring water. The clay courts at East Meadow (SSS sessions in the afternoon) will be brutal.

Wed May 20 — front evening, early games only

Hot morning play, storms after 4 PM. Most evening leagues will cancel ahead of the storms.

Thu May 21 – Fri May 22 — best playing weather of the week

70°F then 66°F. Friday evening Little League at North Meadow is a great weekday spectate. Bowling Green Lawn open all week. No big spectator events Thursday or Friday.

Sat May 23 — Memorial Day weekend opens, no CRCA, rain risk

The headline: no CRCA Central Park Racing Series this Saturday (Memorial Day skip — first absence in the Saturday-morning crit racing series this season). The usual 4–8:30 AM cycling crit on East Drive is dark.

Other Saturday sports:

• Model Yacht Racing at Kerbs Boathouse, 9 AM–3 PM (cancels in steady rain — Central Park Model Yacht Club’s call)
• Adult softball at Heckscher Fields, morning
• Little League across Great Lawn and North Meadow
• Skate Circle at Dead Road North, 2–7 PM (cancels in rain)

If the rain lifts, morning Model Yacht is the weather-window pick.
