Charles A. Dana Discovery Center The Harlem Meer Performance Festival is back with a fresh new lineup! Join the Central Park Conservancy on August 16, 2026, for a performance by jazz group M.A.R. Quintet. ABOUT M.A.R. QUINTET M. Alex Ramirez is a Colombian saxophonist, composer, producer, and educator based in New York City. His ideals on music focus on creating honest representations of his emotions while building a community that fosters innovation within the group and audience. Ramirez was awarded third place in the Carinthia International Jazz Award Competition in 2020. A recent graduate from NYU, Ramirez performs in venues all over New York City. His current mentors include Ben Wendel, Baptiste Herbin, Kris Urbanski, and Melissa Aldana. Ramirez recently released his debut EP, Coalescence , out on all streaming platforms. ABOUT THE HARLEM MEER PERFORMANCE FESTIVAL The Harlem Meer Performance Festival is a beloved annual tradition, filling Central Park with music and movement on select Sundays throughout the summer.
